Is a Wyoming Non-Resident Permit Valid in Virginia?

No such permit issuedVerified 2026-08-08

There is nothing to recognize: Wyoming issues permits to its own residents only (residents only — the DCI FAQ answers 'Can a non-resident obtain a concealed firearm permit in Wyoming?' with 'No.' Active-duty Wyoming military stationed out of state may still apply; a permit remains valid if the holder later moves away but cannot be renewed). If you don't live in Wyoming, look at states that do sell non-resident permits and check which of those Virginia honors.

Why

Va. Code § 18.2-308.014: the holder of a valid concealed handgun or concealed weapon permit or license issued by ANY other state may carry in Virginia provided the holder is at least 21, carries government-issued photo ID, displays the permit and ID upon demand by law enforcement, and has not previously had a Virginia permit revoked. No requirement that the permit be a resident permit of the issuing state.
