Editorial Standards

Carry-law content is the kind search engines call "your money or your life" — errors have real consequences. These are the rules every page on concealedcarrymap.com is held to.

1. Primary sources only. A claim ships when an official state page supports it, and that page is cited where the claim appears. Aggregators, forums, and blogs are never sources here.
2. Every page is dated. The last-verified date on a page is the date a human-directed check actually confirmed the underlying row against its source, not a freshness cosmetic.
3. Uncertainty is visible. When an official source doesn't settle a question, the page says so and tells you who to ask. We would rather look incomplete than be wrong.
4. Data drives prose. Pages are generated from one validated dataset, so a law change updates every affected page at once. No page can quietly disagree with the map.
5. Corrections are fast and logged. Reports to [email protected] are checked against the official source and, when confirmed, fixed in the dataset — which fixes every page built from it.
6. No advice, no advocacy. The site reports what state law says, links the source, and stops there. It takes no position on what the law should be.
