Is a New York Non-Resident Permit Valid in Nevada?

Not recognizedVerified 2026-08-08

No. In Nevada your New York State Pistol/Revolver License — concealed carry class (Penal Law 400.00(2)(f)) counts for nothing, and the state has no permitless carry for visitors. You would need a Nevada permit, which it does issue to non-residents, to carry there.

Why

Official DPS list effective July 1, 2025 (28 states); neither NRS 202.3688 nor the list imposes an issuing-state residency condition. A permit holder who becomes a Nevada resident loses reciprocity 60 days after establishing residency unless issued a Nevada permit (NRS 202.3688(2)).
