Is a Nebraska Non-Resident Permit Valid in New Hampshire?

No such permit issuedVerified 2026-08-08

You can't get this permit: Nebraska doesn't offer one to non-residents (requires 180 days' Nebraska residency (Neb. Rev. Stat. 69-2433). US Armed Forces members on permanent duty station in Nebraska and their spouses count as residents; new residents holding a permit from a state Nebraska recognizes may apply without the 180-day wait). Check your own state's permit against New Hampshire's recognition rules instead.

Why

New Hampshire has no inbound recognition statute because none is needed — no license is required to carry. Any out-of-state permit holder (or non-holder) who may lawfully possess a firearm may carry. RSA 159:6-d addresses only outbound reciprocity for NH licenses; the State Police publish the list of states honoring NH resident licenses.
