Is a Kansas Non-Resident Permit Valid in Georgia?

No such permit issuedVerified 2026-08-08

There is nothing to recognize: Kansas issues permits to its own residents only (kansas residents only - application must be made to the sheriff of the county where the applicant resides (K.S.A. 75-7c05)). If you don't live in Kansas, look at states that do sell non-resident permits and check which of those Georgia honors.

Why

SB 319 defines 'any person licensed to carry a weapon in any other state' as a lawful weapons carrier, with no residency or permit-type qualifier, so resident and non-resident permits from every state are effectively honored. The Attorney General separately maintains a formal reciprocity list (32 states) relevant mainly to Georgia licensees traveling outbound.
