Is a Georgia Non-Resident Permit Valid in Nebraska?

No such permit issuedVerified 2026-08-08

You can't get this permit: Georgia doesn't offer one to non-residents (georgia.gov requires applicants to be a Georgia resident and apply at the probate court (county of domicile); 18-20 only for military members with basic training completed. Out-of-state residents cannot get a WCL, but under SB 319 they may carry without one if they would otherwise qualify). Check your own state's permit against Nebraska's recognition rules instead.

Why

Recognition under Neb. Rev. Stat. 69-2448 applies only while the holder is NOT a Nebraska resident; it imposes no issuing-state residency condition. The AG list recognizes AZ, AR, CA, ME, MO, MT, NV, OK, TN, TX and WY permits only if the holder is 21+. Since LB 77 (2023) the list's practical role is waiving the 180-day residency requirement for obtaining a Nebraska permit — carry itself is permitless for anyone 21+ (non-minor) and not prohibited. Unrecognized: AL, DE, GA, IN, MD, MA, MS, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, WA.
