Is a North Carolina Non-Resident Permit Valid in Nevada?

No such permit issuedVerified 2026-08-08

A North Carolina non-resident permit isn't something you can hold — the state doesn't issue one (applicant must have been a North Carolina resident for at least 30 days immediately preceding the application (G.S. 14-415.12(a)); no non-resident permits). The question for Nevada is which resident or non-resident permits from other states it honors.

Why

Official DPS list effective July 1, 2025 (28 states); neither NRS 202.3688 nor the list imposes an issuing-state residency condition. A permit holder who becomes a Nevada resident loses reciprocity 60 days after establishing residency unless issued a Nevada permit (NRS 202.3688(2)).
